GMTK Role Reversal - You are the pipes (and you're sick of dealing with these birds.)

Type the word "SMASH" repeatedly to operate the pneumatic pipes.  Typing letters out of order is bad and will make the pipes retract. Typing the word correctly will build up a boost.  Try to find a rhythm or just stare at your keyboard and hope for the best on screen.

Thanks for playing!

The game idea has potential but needs a bit of polish. It's very difficult to smash the birds.
Here's a small suggestion on my part: Make it so that you have to time the smash with the beats of the music and make the birds move less randomly. Also having to type smash gets kinda boring, it would be fun if you used arrows and made random combos that you had to do. I can see this becoming a very satisfying game!

I agree with all of that except for the part of adding more interactions. At some point it just becomes a rhythm game like any other but with a flappy bird theme. By using this one specific word, the mechanic is tied in. The whole game is kept short, its intentionally disposable. It's a microgame. You experience it, you are surprised by it, it ends, you go on with life.

But timing things up with the music and making the pipes work better, you're definitely correct on.

Thank you for playing and the feedback!

Awesome good luck with everything!

Interesting idea, but I barely manage to kill 6. I'm bad at keeping the rythm it seems :/

This week I'm going to polish this little thing and make the typing function smoother and more responsive feeling. I'll throw it up on Newgrounds and update it here once the jam rating period is over. Thank you for playing, Anon!
